Photo Shoot

Alrighty, so here they are!!! Well some of them. Chas and I had a great opportunity to have a photo shoot a couple of weeks ago with a photographer that is doing some flyers, and we got a killer (I mean, really!) deal on the photo session. He ended up taking over 180 photos, so I just picked out a few that turned out, and some of them we will probably end up using for further shows, and possibly an album cover. Exciting!! So, check em out!

This is the one we may end up using for the album cover, I think it fits with the name pretty well....Just a Vapor.

A little out of context

So, I realized today that I forgot to post pictures of our St. Patty's day party!! So, without further adew.....ta da!!

Your lovely hostesses for the evening, sporting nothing but green for the festivities.

Kelli with the costume winner of the evening, Matt! He even wore a green helmet!

Kelli and I agreed that this picture makes Jeff look stunningly like Shawn McDonald.

Jesse and his greedy ways....not really, it was only eleven dollars.
I love this face of Kaytee's!! She is really getting into the St. Patty's spirit.

Chad and the lovely hat

Good ol' thumbs up for the camera.

Chillin on the couch with Ryann and Jeff waiting to play CLR dice game!

Ashley and Thad originally showed up with no festive gear, but they quickly ran to the store and happened to find some and a stuningly good price of $1!

Just bein a dork as always, he he

And of course, the night would not have been complete with out the notorious Irish Car Bombs. I will admit, I do miss these.

Chas and Jeff chuggin 'em down.

And there you have it, I would say it was a pretty successfull Patt's day party, thanks to those who came out and shared in the good times!!

Easter Simplicity

I started Easter Sunday with some of my favorite scriptures....
Romans 5:6-13
"6You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. 7Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous man, though for a good man someone might possibly dare to die. 8But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
9Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God's wrath through him! 10For if, when we were God's enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life! 11Not only is this so, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation."
I am reminded by these words of how easily of a wretch I can be. How often does someone do something to you, and you just immediately seek revenge in your head, or sometimes, even act it out?
These words help keep it in perspective for me. We do horrible things against Christ, everyday, and yet, in our wickedness, he did not seek revenge. He sought love. Love that frees us.
Then four of us took a little drive down to a little city called Tooele, some of you know this place, and what a quaint little town it is.
It was there we provided "special music" for probably the smallest church I have ever been to.
And it was awesome.
Once again, I am reminded of how awesome Jesus is. That even in the smallest and most simple places, he creates reminders of Himself and what he has done for us.
It was in the simplicity of the day that I was sancitified.
The day ended with a new song writing, one that shows relation to the pain of losing a son, but the rejuvination of a new heart that seeks more of Him.
"Because of you
I can relate to the sympathy of saying good-bye
for just as I lost the one
you lost your son
I'm so sorry Lord
But now my hearts seeks more of you
bleeds more for you
seeks more justice
wants all the things that you say I can do"

The things you learn

What did I learn today?......
Items purchased from being on a gluten-free diet are, yes, tax-deductible.
Ah-ha!!!
At least there is good news that comes along with the torture of trying to forget about your old loves (cupcakes and really good bread)
Better start saving all my receipts.

Love and hate

Things I miss about being on a gluten-free diet.....

Oh the ooey-gooey-ness of a warm chocolate chip cookie. It just makes my mouth water. I have found that GF cookies are just a bit too hard, so I just don't eat them.

Specifically, The Cinabon roll. Oh that frosting is so tasty.

Chicken fingers, Kentucky Fried Chicken, pretty much all things fried.

Yes, I made this picture bigger, because it is my all time food love and item I miss the most. I have yet to find a delictible recipe that tastes just as good and is just as moist as the real cupcake. Kel and I did conquer the frosting recipe though, so far butter cream is the best.

Things I have grown to love now that I am on a gluten-free diet

Celery goes especially well with Maranatha's organic peanut butter....SO creamy..mmmm.

Spinach Salad, or most salad in general. Especially with different types of cheese, and salad dressings, and grilled chicken.

I have always liked rice milk, but I just find myself drinking more of it now.

Juicing!! It has become almost a daily routine for me. What a great way to get in your fruits and veggies. And, if mixed with the right ingredients, can be quite tasty.

Indian Food. Now here's something I didn't think I would ever like, just because I assumed it would be too spicy! But, I have become a fan of it, specifically coconut currey chicken, with rice and vegetables. Super tasty!

Gluten-Free Pasta. It's actually not that bad, at least the Quinoa kind.

I am still in the process of finding new recipes, but so far things are going well. Now if I could just master the cupcake recipe......
